How long does the course take?
It is assumed that you are already an active sailor and have extensive experience. This must be documented by your sailing book or logbooks. The condition is that you have sailed at least 1000 nautical miles as a captain and at least 1500 nautical miles as a crew member under the supervision of a captain with higher qualifications. Seawolf organizes a captained cruise for you several times a year to gain the necessary experience. You will sail with an experienced skipper in areas that you, as a C license holder, cannot normally reach.
SEA CRUISE
This license is enough for most sailors for life. Two hundred nautical miles from the coastline is really a lot. You can drive a boat up to the maximum length of a sea yacht, i.e. up to 24 meters. There are other restrictions, sail safely in a hurricane. But a sailor with a B license should have enough sense not to do that 😉
WHAT IS THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF THE PASSPORT?
The validity period of a seagoing yacht pilot's license is 10 years. To extend it, it is sufficient to prove that you have sailed at least 500 nautical miles in the last ten years before the expiration date.
Course progress
In each specialization, a deeper knowledge of the given issue is required. This especially applies to navigation calculations. We will teach you how to work with complex navigation examples, where multiple variables are taken into account, such as currents, deviations, tides and currents.
1. Theories
To obtain a B license, you must be the holder of a C license.
It is also necessary to successfully pass a theoretical exam in the following specializations:
Navigation including tidal waters
COLREG
Meteorology
Nautica
Hygienics
English
2. Practice
